SAVANNAH, GA. (February 28, 2014): A 35-year-old Savannah man identified as the suspect who robbed a 27-year-old woman of her purse on Feb. 17 awakened this morning to a SWAT Team and felony charges filed against him.
Antwain Patrick Singleton was arrested on warrants taken by Robbery Unit detectives of the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department about 6 a.m. today. He has been charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The warrant was served at his residence in the 400 block of West 55th Street by Metro SWAT, Patrol and Criminal Investigation Division detectives. The house was a block from West 54th and Montgomery streets where the woman was robbed at gunpoint at 10 p.m. on Feb. 17.
He had been released from Wilcox State Prison last June after serving 10 months of a four-year sentence for possession of narcotics/opiates and obstruction of a law enforcement officer. He also served 23 months of a four-year sentence from September 2008 until August 2010 for theft and obstruction.
