SAVANNAH, GA (January 18, 2011): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police have one man in custody after a pursuit this morning and are investigating his reasons for shooting at an officer.
Keenan Ramon Green, 19, was taken into custody when the car he was driving was boxed in by converging patrol cars at 51st and Hickory Streets about 8:45 a.m.
Patrol Officer Jason Pagliaro was checking a white Chevrolet Monte Carlo matching the description of one reported stolen earlier today about 8:30 a.m. The officer was fired upon by someone in a passing red Monte Carlo
.
The bullet shattered the back window of the patrol car and struck the Plexiglas shield behind the driver’s seat.
The officer pursued the red vehicle through city streets until it was stopped on 51st. No one was injured.
The white Monte Carlo, which was determined to be stolen, was found wrecked at Dunwoody and Edgewater.
The investigation is continuing.
