SAVANNAH, GA (August 4, 2011): Patrol officers from the Central Precinct spent several hours scouring West 39th Street early this morning identifying the location where a Savannah man was shot.
Ricardo Gonzalez, 32, of the 1100 block of Royal Oaks Court, flagged down a patrol officer at 39th and MLK Boulevard just before 1 a.m. with a bullet wound in his stomach area. He said he had approached a house in the area to purchase crack cocaine when he was shot by two black males with dreadlock hair.
Gonzalez was transported to Memorial University Medical Center where he underwent emergency surgery for a non-life threatening wound.
Detectives from the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police violent crimes division are continuing to investigate.
