SAVANNAH GA ( January 4, 2011) The Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a man involved in a burglary on Christmas Eve.
Just after 11:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to Oglethorpe Tours, located on Rathborn Street, after an alarm was reported for the business. Officers arrived on scene to find broken glass at the front door. When they did a search of the building they found several locks and keypads had been smashed off the doors. File cabinets had been ransacked and one safe was open.
The owner of the business responded and did not find anything missing. Video surveillance was collected of the entire burglary and shows a man between 5’6” – 5’9”, possibly 180 Lbs. The suspect is wearing dark colored clothing and gloves. He is seen talking on a cell phone and leaves the business seconds before officers arrive on scene. The suspect was last seen walking southbound from the business.
