SAVANNAH, GA (September 15, 2010): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police detectives have one man in custody after a stabbing that occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning
24-year-old Jerale Williams turned himself into police custody this afternoon. WILLIAMS had an active aggravated assault warrant for his arrest stemming from a stabbing that occurred Wednesday morning. The night of the assault WILLIAMS had a female companion, Amesha Smith. As it turns out Ms Smith was wanted for questioning in a robbery and aggravated assault that occurred May, 13th of this year. In that assault a female lured the victim into a lane where two or more men jumped the man, beat him severely and robbed him.
A photo line-up was conducted and WILLIAMS was identified as one of the assailants. WILLIAMS was charged with two additional warrants; for armed robbery and aggravated assault. He was transported to the Chatham County Detention Center and is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
The victim for the original stabbing has been released from the hospital.
