SAVANNAH, GA (September 27, 2012) Metro police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man on the Southside this afternoon.
The man, 35, was transported to Memorial University Medical Center after police found him with a gunshot wound in the back seat of a black pickup truck that crashed into a house about 3:30 p.m. today. He was declared dead soon after. Police are withholding identification until family is notified.
The driver of the truck was taken into custody by arriving Central Precinct officers after a short foot chase at Harmon and East 46th streets.
The truck matched the description of one that sped away from the Coastal Gold Exchange in the 200 block of Eisenhower Drive after shots were fired there a few minutes earlier.
