SAVANNAH GA ( January 3, 2011) The Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department is investigating an attempted robbery that landed one person in the hospital.
At 7:30 p.m., Sunday, officers were dispatched to the Windsor Arms Apartments, located 12049 Largo Drive, after receiving a call from Rafel Jackson stating someone had just tried to rob him. Jackson said he was walking across the parking lot when he was approached by masked suspect who was pointing a gun at him and told him that it was a robbery. Jackson struggled with the suspect who fell backwards, pulled off the mask and started to run. Jackson chased the suspect, a female, who turned and shot at him. He said he returned fire.
Moments later Deborah WILLIS, 21, arrived by private vehicle at St Josephs Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. She was later transferred to Memorial University Medical Center by ambulance. WILLIS was later identified as the suspect in the robbery.
