SAVANNAH, GA (September 18, 2015) –Today 27 cadets, hired by the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department, graduated from the Georgia Public Safety Training Center.
The SCMPD cadets completed the 11-week state-mandated training along with 17 cadets from other surrounding law enforcement agencies. They are part of the GPSTC Class 284 and Class 285. On Monday, these now certified peace officers, will begin an additional seven weeks of training at the SCMPD Patrol School.
The SCMPD cadets took home seven of the top eight awards at today’s graduation including two “Top Honor” awards, two “Best Fitness” awards, two “Most Improved Fitness” awards and one “Expert Marksman” award.
