SAVANNAH, GA (October 5, 2015): Southside Precinct detectives of Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department made a third arrest on Sunday in a string of robberies targeting individuals attempting to buy or sell items advertised online.
Tevin Jackson, 19, was arrested Sunday at the Chatham County Annex and charged with robbery.
Metro investigators linked Jackson to two robberies occurring on Monday, Sept. 14, where citizens attempting to purchase or sell items advertised on Craig’s List were victimized, one at K-Mart on West Montgomery Cross Road and the other at Savannah Mall on Abercorn Street.
Ciara Rentz, 20, and Maurice Benton, 19, were arrested and charged in three similar incidents on Savannah’s south side, including the two in which Jackson is suspected. Rentz is charged with two counts of theft by receiving stolen property. Benton is charged with making false statements.
Detectives are working to determine whether the three suspects are connected to other incidents targeting Craig’s List users. This investigation continues.
