SAVANNAH, GA. (November 20, 2013): This weekend, members of the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department and Savannah Fire And Rescue will face off in a flag football game in support of the United Way of the Coastal Empire and the Social Apostolate of Savannah.
Metro has collected more than $26,000 for United Way through various department activities. Until Friday, the Savannah Impact Program (SIP) office, located at 1700 Drayton St., will accept monetary donations for United way.
SIP also is collecting canned goods in support of the Social Apostolate of Savannah.
The game is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Daffin Park Optimist Field. The event is free and open to the public. Donated food and money will be accepted at the park.
