SAVANNAH, GA. (October 9, 2017): The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department is gearing up for its first-ever Pumpkin Painting with Police event scheduled for Friday, October 27 from 5-7:30 p.m.

This event is free and all pumpkin painting supplies, including an apron for participants, will be included. During the event, families will enjoy a special performance from well-known Savannah magician Magic Marc, a spooky book reading and a special appearance from McGruff the Crime Dog.

Families will also enjoy Fall-inspired games, bounce houses, a Metro Special Operations display and receive candy for kids to take home. Costumes are welcome, and guardians are encouraged to bring candy bags for children. Police officers will also share trick or treat safety tips. 

Pumpkin Painting with Police gives families the opportunity to sit down with Metro officers in a fun and relaxing setting. This event is meant to encourage positive interactions with police officers and community members
