SAVANNAH, GA (August 29, 2016): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Special Victims Unit is investigating an attempted sexual assault of a teen near the 400 block of Goebel Avenue, Aug. 28.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. as a female teen was walking toward Henry Street. Reportedly, the victim encountered the suspect near Goebel Avenue. The suspect grabbed the victim and attempted to sexually assault her, but was unsuccessful. The teen was able to get away from the suspect and he fled the scene on foot toward Truman Parkway.
The suspect is described as a clean-shaven black male in his 30s. During the incident he wore a black hoodie, black pants and purple Jordan brand sneakers.
This incident is not connected to the Carver Heights case and remains under investigation.
