SAVANNAH, GA (August 2, 2011): One man is being treated and a second is being sought after a domestic dispute led to gunfire this morning.
Kevin David Young, 42, was taken to Memorial University Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his forearm after the 11:45 a.m. shooting on 33rd Street near Ott Street. The wound was not considered life-threatening.
Police are seeking Melvin Morrell, 20, of the 1100 block of East 31st Street.
Morrell’s mother and Young had arranged to meet in that area this morning. An argument began between Morrell and Young in which the shot was fired.
Young walked southeast to 34th and Waters Avenue where his sister picked him up, called police and began the drive him to a hospital. Police stopped her SUV at Waters and Victory Drive where emergency medical technicians began treatment and completed the transport to Memorial
Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are continuing to investigate the shooting and seek Morrell.
