SAVANNAH, GA (February 7, 2012): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police will hold a Town Hall meeting Saturday for Islands Precinct residents to discuss crime statistics from 2011 and efforts police plan to use to decrease them in 2012.
Islands Precinct Capt. Charles Hall is hosting the meeting at 10 a.m. at the Frank G. Murray Community Center, 160 Whitemarsh Rd., and will discuss crime concerns with attendees. The goal of the meeting is to help Islands familiarize residents with crime trends and how to better help police officers better protect them and how to protect themselves as well.
Islands Precinct Crime Prevention Officer Robert Martier will demonstrate the new iWatch Savannah website he encouraged the department to develop to report suspicious activity over the Internet. He also will detail plans to conduct crime prevention workshops throughout the city starting with the Edgemere/Sackville area.
