SAVANNAH, GA (June 11, 2016): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is investigating a shooting at an apartment complex on the 2505 Oak Forest Drive, occurring at about 7:45 p.m. Friday, June 10.
Metro responded to the scene after reports of an injured person. Officers located Edward Blount, 50, suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Blount was transported by ambulance to Memorial University Medical Center for treatment.
Investigators believe Blount may have been shot during an altercation with an acquaintance at the apartment complex. Detectives are currently working to determine the factors leading up to this shooting and identities of any suspects. This shooting is not believed to be a random act.
