SAVANNAH, GA (July 7, 2011): The two men who died of gunshot wounds on North Baldwin Circle June 24, shot each other, the investigation has revealed.
Kevin Moore, 21, was found dead inside the house and Nick Bing, 26, of Savannah died the following morning at Memorial University Medical Center. A third man, Delrone Thompson, 34, drove himself to Memorial University Medical Center (MUMC) with a gunshot wound. He was initially listed in serious condition but was released from the hospital two days after the shooting. A fourth man remained at the house and provided information when police arrived.
Detective Roy Ricardo of the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Criminal Investigations Homicide Division said the evidence and accounts of the two survivors confirmed that the shootings stemmed from an altercation inside the house where drugs have been sold. A small amount of drugs was found in the house, along with drug paraphernalia.
Ricardo said police had been sorting out details of the shootings since June 24 and have now concluded that Moore pulled a pistol and fired first during the altercation and Bing returned the fire. Thompson was caught in the cross fire.
Two small boys in the house at the time of the shooting were unharmed and returned to their mother at the scene. That issue has been referred to the Chatham County Department of Family and Children Services.
No charges are pending against the survivors of the shootings at this time, but the investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at (912) 234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637). In the body type, include “CStop2020” plus the tip.
