SAVANNAH, GA. (January 31, 2014): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are trying to find family members to alert before releasing the name of a 59-year-old homeless man killed after he was struck by a pickup truck Thursday night.
The man was pushing a shopping cart across the west bound lanes of East President Street when he walked into the path of a Ford F-150 driven by a 25-year-old Savannah woman. The man was clad in dark clothing.
He was transported about 8:30 p.m. to Memorial University Medical Center where he died.
Metro’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) continues to investigate.
