SAVANNAH, GA ( April 28, 2011) The Savannah-Chatham Metro Police have one man in custody and are searching for another after an overnight home invasion.

Just before 12:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 200 Block of Gobel Avenue after receiving calls of a home invasion. The victims told police that two men broke into his home and woke him up. They demanded money from  the victim. He did not have cash to give them, but the suspects took some of his personal belongings and fled.

As police were arriving to the scene the officer observed a vehicle leaving at a high rate of speed and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle fled and the officer pursued. The driver crashed in the area of Houston Street and East President Street and the occupants fled from the vehicle.

The pursuing officer and arriving detectives all joined in on the foot pursuit. Both of the men fleeing from the car matched the description of the home invasion suspects. Terry Grubbs, 24, was apprehended and identified as one of the suspects involved. Grubbs was charged with the robbery as well as several traffic charges. The other suspect is still at large.
