SAVANNAH, GA (October 5, 2015): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team asks the public’s help in locating a driver who may have been racing against a vehicle involved in a fatal three-car wreck on White Bluff Road and Posey Street on Sept. 12. The collision claimed the lives of Rashan Floyd, 29, and Shannon Lovelace, 33.

Investigators seek to identify and locate the driver of a white late-model Dodge Charger seen near the accident scene. The Charger’s driver may have been racing against Floyd’s Gray Ford Mustang just before 5:30 p.m. on the day of the collision. The charger is believed to have continued south on White Bluff toward Abercorn Street.

Investigators believe Floyd was traveling southbound on White Bluff Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his Mustang. The Mustang crossed the median before colliding with Lovelace’s blue Chevrolet Cruze and a Buick sedan.

Floyd and Lovelace died at the scene.
