SAVANNAH, GA (December 8, 2014) – On Friday December 5, 2014 Mrs. Tina Browning, AVP and Branch Manager of the Oglethorpe Mall Branch of Certus Bank and staff presented Central Precinct with bears packaged by the Certus Bank staff as part of the continuing “Cruising with Bears” program. This program started in the summer of 2013 at the Habersham Village Roll Call in the Streets event. These bears are given out to children when there is a need for comfort in situations like domestics calls. The bears are also periodically given as gifts to children in the community.
“When a child comes into the precinct under circumstances that tend to be stressful; a toy like a “Cruising Bear” can be a big comfort for them,” said Crime Prevention Officer, APO Barry Lewis. “We like to be able to show compassion to those in need and this is a little tool that we use. It’s real generous for the staff at Certus Bank to help us do that.”
