SAVANNAH, GA (April 1, 2013): A Savannah business is donating more than 200 items through the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department to a shelter for women and children in distress.
Krishna Amusements will deliver the items to Police Chief Willie Lovett at 10 a.m. at Police Headquarters Tuesday for the women and children in Safe Shelter. The chief, lead detective in the department’s Special Victims Unit and staff and board members of the shelter will attend.
Krishna’s owner requested no acknowledgement. He had declared the items were surplus because their models had been replaced and determined that the occupants of the shelter should receive them.
Being donated are 72 hand-help hair dryers, 36 ceramic hair straightening irons, 36 crimping irons, 12 food choppers, eight electric knives, four juicers, two steam irons, two blenders. Also being donated are 20 clock radios, and a small freezer. Brand names include Vidal Sassoon, Proctor Silex and Sunbeam.
