SAVANNAH, GA (June 9, 2015): All traffic on the Talmadge Bridge will be shut down for a short period of time between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. as the U.S. Coast Guard escorts a huge crane in transit in the river under it.
Traffic will be halted as the ship approaches the bridge and reopened as soon as it clears. Rather than reroute for the expected 10 minutes, Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police will simply halt traffic and release it as soon as possible.
Drivers are asked to use caution and patience.
