SAVANNAH, GA (August 28, 2015): Robbery Unit detectives of Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department seek the public’s help in identifying the suspects behind two robberies of customers outside of a bank on the 700 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.
The robberies occurred less than seven days apart at Carver State Bank. On Monday at 10:03 a.m. a suspect attempted to snatch a customer’s purse as she approached the bank’s entrance. The suspect failed at taking the purse, but grabbed another bag containing a large sum of cash from the victim’s possession. The suspect ran south.
On Tuesday, Aug. 18th at 12:08 p.m. while cashing a check at the bank’s drive-through, a suspect stole the pod containing the customer’s cash from the transport tube. The suspect headed west on foot.
In both cases the suspect was described as a black male, in his early 20s, with a tall slender build, dressed in all black.
