SAVANNAH, GA. (May 7, 2014): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police investigators are searching for an auto thief who attempted a break-in at a Savannah business, with the stolen vehicle in his possession.
Saturday, May 3, while patrolling an apartment complex on the 4400 block of Caroline Drive, Metro officers recovered a white Ford Econoline Van reported stolen by Dynamic Care Transportation at approximately 6 a.m. Monday, April 28. Surveillance footage linked the van to an attempted break-in at a Cricket Mobile store on the 7900 block of Abercorn Street, on April 27 at 11:27 p.m.
Detectives are investigating whether the suspect is tied to three additional commercial burglaries on Savannah’s southside during the late night hours of April 27 into April 28.
The suspect is described as a black male with a slender build standing 5-6 to 5-8.
