SAVANNAH, GA (July 1, 2015): Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) officers are investigating a two-car crash on US Highway 80 East this afternoon that injured four occupants, two seriously.
Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police responded at 1:21 p.m. to the collision in front of Fort Pulaski just west of Tybee Island.
A 2010 Toyota Prius being driven west bound on U.S. 80 had struck the left-side doors of a 2012 Hyundai Elantra that was exiting the driveway to Fort Pulaski and attempting to turn east. The impact caused the Hyundai to rotate onto the south side of Hwy 80 in the marsh line.
Allison Scarboro, 19, of Savannah, driver of the Hyundai, and Allan Croder, 20, of Ithica, NY, a passenger in her car, were transported to Memorial University Medical University with serious injuries. Hellen Savidge, 19, of Savannah, another passenger in the Hyundai, and Anthony Zeppetella Jr., 21, of Savannah, driver of the Prius, were treated at the hospital for minor injuries.
