TIU Investigates Multi-Vehicle Crash that Injures Two Pedestrians

SAVANNAH, GA (April 9, 2018) – Savannah Police’s Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating a multi-vehicle crash on Bay Street this afternoon that resulted in serious injuries to two pedestrians.

About 5:45 p.m. Lawrence Gaudry Jr., 37, of Savannah, was traveling east in the right hand lane of Bay Street near Abercorn Street when, for unknown reasons, his GMC Yukon struck a parked Ford Fiesta. The impact resulted in the Fiesta going onto the sidewalk and into the wall of 201 Bay Street.

At the time of the incident, Christina Morris, 41, and Vicki Anthony, 60, both of Chillicothe, Ohio, were getting items out of the trunk of a Ford Focus that was parked directly in front of the Fiesta. Both women were struck as a result of the crash. A Ford Escape that was parked in front of the Focus was also damaged.

Morris and Anthony were transported to Memorial Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
