SAVANNAH, GA (October 21, 2010): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police officers ran down two suspects Wednesday night after they tried to break into the residence of one suspect’s father.
Dwayne Anthony Locke Jr. and Christian Blake, both 19, have been charged with criminal attempt, possession of tools for commission of a crime and obstruction after police interrupted an attempted break-in at a house on 38th Street.
Blake and Locke had gone to the residence of Locke’s father in the 2100 block of East 38th Street. After Blake knocked on the front door, the two were trying to kick in the rear door when police arrived. Locke does not live at the residence.
Dwayne Locke Sr. had called police after hearing the door being kicked and flagged down officers when they arrived moments later, pointing to the suspects as they ran away.
Both men fled but were chased by several responding units and apprehended in the area. Police recovered gloves, the flashlight and a folding knife.
