SAVANNAH, GA (December 3, 2015): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes detectives are investigating a domestic shooting in east Savannah that resulted in two deaths on Thursday morning.

Just before 9 a.m. Metro responded to a reported shooting outside of an apartment building on the 500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. Responding officers found Johnee’ Williams, 19, with a gunshot wound. Williams died at the scene.

Investigators learned that Williams and her ex-boyfriend, Malique Francis, 20, engaged in a verbal altercation in the apartment building’s parking lot. During the altercation, Francis reportedly shot Williams, then fled on foot.

The area was immediately searched by Metro’s Violent Crimes investigators, Aviation and Forensics units, Patrol Division, SWAT and Hostage Negotiation Team, along with Chatham County Sheriff’s Office K9s. SCMPD Chaplains also responded.

Hostage negotiators made cell phone contact with Francis and eventually located him at a residence on the 2200 block of Iowa Street. Police surrounded the property, urging Francis to surrender. Gun fire was heard inside the residence, prompting SWAT to make entry. Once inside Francis was found deceased. Investigators believe he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

All victims and suspects in this case are accounted for. This is an ongoing investigation.
