1 Shot, 1 Injured in Weekend Shooting

SAVANNAH, GA (August 17, 2015): Violent Crimes investigators of Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department are seeking information on a Sunday evening shooting that injured a man and woman.

At 6:32 p.m. Metro was dispatched to the 600 block of West 38th Street.  Moments earlier, Cynteria Williams, 24, and Michael Capers, 20, were sitting together outside of a residence when shots rang out.  Williams was shot and sustained non-life threatening injuries. Capers received minor injuries from flying debris. Both victims arrived at Candler Hospital in privately owned vehicles for treatment.

A stolen Honda Civic was abandoned and left running at the scene. At least three unknown suspects are believed responsible.

Investigators do not believe this to be a random act.
